I was perusing the latest in horrid D&D fan films this morning and got sentimental for an old board game instructional/story video I used to have on VHS tape.
You're welcome for that Cullen.
Also, there's seems to be yet another D&D documentary coming out that, while as cringe-worthy as most, seems to have some sort of overall point about societies stupification...or something, I'm not sure, but it does poke fun at politics being ridiculous. Anyways, check out the trailer.

Now my power is complete!
Yes, Facebook posting pretty much kills blogs, but I thought I'd let the blogosphere know that my nerdiness and subscriptions to all Green Lantern-related comics at my local shop have allowed me to finally obtain all powers of the color-spectrum!
That's right, every ring is now mine! Kneel before Zod!
And now that I have all the Lantern power rings, I will, uh, I guess...um... collect something else?

Halloween 2009!
So the ravenous Dr. Lecter and I headed down to the Windy City this year for Halloween, to hang with the Goreckis and Chicago peeps for the celebration of Sam Hain.
Dr. Girlfriend and I both went as serial killers for Halloween this year.

Paul, Cathy, Tom, and Megan went as Spartans!

Chris and Laura went with an excellent Wizard of Oz theme.

I kept busy all night abducting various Dexter fans.

Like any good party, much drunken Wii was played.

Another great Halloween with the Goreckis!

Horror movie sequel challenge
w00t! Its October again!
October is the time of horror movies, and as many of you will remember from previous issues of scantabulous, the top ten Halloween movies of all time were established back in 2007, and I don't think anything has come out in the meantime to that could knock movies off that well-researched list, except maybe one...
With the recent release of Children of the Corn remake on the syphillis channel (filmed in the illustrious Lost Nation, IA, home town of your beloved blogmaster) we should talk about some horror movie genres that have multiple sequels.
So with that, I present the "What crappy bad guy is this?" horror movie challenge!
Rules of the challenge:
1) All screenshots of bad guys are from movies with multiple sequels.
2) You get points for naming the movie series, and extra bonus super points for naming the bad guy specifically (if they have a name).
---
1) So, lets begin fairly easy:
Yeah, you know the movie series, even if you never actually watched any of them. Where is this little guy from?
---
2) Let's get a little more difficult...
You may be confused at this one, but I guarantee you've seen this movie. This movie started an iconic meme that is now applied to all of my favorite horror monsters' feeding habits.
---
3) Okay, next we have kind of a trick one:
What the hell? Yep, that's Billy Zane. This was actually a pretty good movie. A major plot point was a dude running around with a vial of Jesus's blood that could create force fields. I ain't kidding.
---
4) This one's a difficult one, but I'm guessing Cullen or Brando will get it:
These little creepos like to put your baby sister in a glass coffin in the middle of the woods... or something, I don't fully remember what the deal was with these guys.
---
5) Here's one of my favs:
I watched all 5 of these crappy movies. Clue: That gemstone he has is the focus of his ridiculous angst and stupid powers that he would use to kill people in ironic ways.
---
6) Here's a semi-difficult one, where's this guy from:
Yeah, he's not the most famousest of bad guys, but he's certainly creepifyin'. What's he from my fellow horror movie buffs?
---
7) Finally, how could I not include this guy:
Where's this little wicket from? Bonus points: Name all of this little charmer's terrible movies by title.

The Big Gorecki Wedding!!
So, this weekend was the BIG Greek Wedding of our friends Paul and Cathy. First on the agenda was to pick up the tux.

I think the black tux with the harvest orange vest looked very nice, but required the D20 socks and Green Lantern cuff links to really pull the ensemble together.

Thanks to Paul and Cathy for the awesome cuff links. They are very cool.
Next up was the rehearsal. Since this wedding was in Cathy's Greek Orthodox church, there were a lot of parts of the ceremony that we had never seen before, so the rehearsal was necessary. Afterward, Paul's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner.

The groom and me

Cory, Chad, Noah, Hillary, and Devin

The groom's sister, Jill and her husband Nick

Nice robot sweatervest!
After dinner, we all got a quick lesson in the Greek 12-step so we were prepared for the reception.
I put together a little video of highlights from the wedding and reception. The quality isn't great, but it will give you an idea of the Greek 12-step (my name for it since I don't know the actual name).

My dates, Brandon and Devin (since Cory was at the head table)

Cory and Sophia

The best man and maid of honor

The Koumbaro and Paul's godmother

Paul and Cathy are both so wonderful, warm, and fun. Wishes for a lifetime of happiness!
